Tat of the Week - Colorful Eastern Dragon

This dragon was inked by the very talented Big Mike of Twisted Sol in Denver, Colorado. It is one of my favorites from the fantasy category because of the vibrant colors as well as the superb artistry. The exotic flowers in the background complete the Asian "feel" of this Eastern dragon, and the many textures along with the use of excellent shading gives it a real 3-dimensional appearance.

There is such a great selection of talented tattoo artists out there, you should really take the time to search for someone that can pull off a real masterpiece - not just someone who can trace a few lines and has no education in color or shading. Many tattoo artists today actually have formal training in fine art. Isn't that the kind of person you want working on your skin?
