Tat of the Week

I admit that I tend to gravitate more toward tattoos that display vibrant color, but I also have a deep appreciation for black and grey work.

This tattoo done by Mario German of German's Tattoos in Federal Way, Washington, is a prime example of the type of blackwork that takes my breath away. This backpiece has such a wonderful blend of mysticism and beauty. It shapes the wearer's back perfectly and has just the right combination of light shading and bold darkness, adding to the physical as well as symbolic depth of this beautiful work of art.
