Lobe Stretching Journal - Entry 2

Sunday May 23, 2004
earstretchblog.jpg On Thursday, May 20, I went to get my lobes streched again. They had finally healed from the last stretching, and I was so excited to get these new 6 gauge plugs in that I had bought. So, I got there and Billy (my piercer) took one look at my new plugs and said he had a feeling that was going to be too big of a jump from my current 10s. So, I picked out some 8s from their case, hoping that I might still be able to squeeze into my 6s.

Bill inserted the first taper and it went from 10 to 8 so easily, I thought for sure I'd be able to handle another 2 gauges. I told him to go ahead and try it. Well, he started with my left (less sensitive) ear and got about half way through with the taper and I told him it was starting to hurt pretty bad. But with a few seconds to rest it stopped burning and I thought I could handle another push. But I decided to let him first try my right (more sensitive) ear first and he barely got the taper in at all before it started burning like fire and I knew there was no way that ear was going to allow a 6 gauge that day.

So, seeing as it would be silly to walk around with one 8 gauge and one 6 gauge piercing, I had to concede to the 8g jewelry for this round. But I will get my sixes next time! I'll keep you posted!
