Tat of the Week - Flesh Tearing Skeleton

Continuing with my Halloween theme for the month of October, I chose this skeleton tearing through flesh tattoo. I don't know who the first artist was to come up with this idea of showing an object ripping through the collector's skin, but it remains one of my favorite tattoo techniques to date. When the "flesh" areas are colored just right, it can be quite a fantastic display of gore.

This tattoo was inked by Tim "Flames" Lobato, who is also a featured artist on this site for his outstanding tattoo work.
