News: 12 Women Accuse Tattoo Artist of Sexual Assault

Sunday April 16, 2006
26 year-old Chapman Edward Swindell was arrested and charged with sexual assault against two of his clients early this week. Two women say that he took them into separate rooms of the tattoo shop where he worked - Mild II Wild in Ft. Worth, Texas - and proceeded to sexually assault them. Since the initial report, 10 other women have come forward and filed similar complaints against Swindell. Cameron Jones, another artist at Mild II Wild, said, "In no way do we condone what happened. As soon as we found out more information, he was fired."

Protect Yourself!
Sexual assault in a professional environment such as this is very rare, but it can and does happen. The two women that reported their assault to police immediately after they left the shop did the right thing. It may have been better if they could have found a way to escape earlier, but at least they didn't just leave and keep quiet, like the other 10 women who are just now coming forward. Please, people! Do not allow yourselves to be a victim by anyone! My article, When Professionals Become Sexual Abusers can provide you with the tools you need if (God forbid) you ever find yourself in this kind of situation.

Then why is he still out of jail. I saw this no good punk at Ross in Lake Worth on Oct. 20th, 2006. Why doesn’t our laws protect us?

Chapman is a real bastard, but I met Cameron and he told me that what occured that day was totally consentual. Sometimes things are not what they appear to be there’s always two sides to a story.

As women we have to protect ourselves in all environments. Neither of these women should have ever went into a back room of a tattoo shop. If he continued to insist, they could have taken their money elsewhere. Anyone who knows anything about professionalism would know that the situation was not going in the right direction.
