News: New 'Smart Tattoos' Will Be Easier to Remove
Sunday April 30, 2006
A new tattoo ink will be released soon for the use of tattoos, and it's supposed to be a revelation in tattoo removal. The ink itself is a dye that is readily absorbed by the body, and if a tattoo was done with this dye alone it would disappear very quickly. What scientists are doing is coating or encapsulating the dye in tiny (microscopic) beads of polymer, which will hold the ink in place until the wearer decides they want it removed. Then, one blast with a laser should open the tiny beads, release the dye from the polymer coating and allow the body to naturally absorb the ink until it's gone.
