Forum Discussion: Finding Body Mod Friendly Employers
wallflower1687 writes: "I found a great tattoo/piercing friendly employer! And I'm so happy about it. I had my orientation at Citi cards, a divison of Citi Group. They are very very diversity friendly. I can't speak for the entire company, but I will be working in one of their call centers. The HR lady was funny. She was trying to come up with examples and was obviously talking mostly to me because my lip is peirced, but she was very cool. I told her a major reason for picking the company was because they are cool about that, and she said if I ever had any issue with it come talk to her personally. "Finding an employer that doesn't discriminate against people with tattoos and piercings can be extremely difficult. A lot of people with modifications have had to concede to removing their jewelry and covering their tattoos just to keep their employment. Fortunately, there are some companies that are not biased against the modified and the community is starting to come together to share information about them. Here are a couple of great places to find a mod-friendly company:
Modified Mind Employee Line - This is an interactive website where people can submit the names of certain companies and what, if any, modifications are allowable for employees.
Stop Body Art Discrimination - This MySpace site is dedicated to stopping prejudice against the modified by citing mod-friendly companies and boycotting businesses that discriminate.
