Discussion: Guy Worries Tattoo Ideas Aren't "Manly" Enough

Someone said that a small tattoo on the back of a guy's left shoulder is a sign for homosexuality, and while teddy bears and roses might be no more manly in tattoo form than they are in actual form, is it weird for a guy to have a clover or leaf as the focal point of their tattoo?"
Do guys have to worry this much about the tattoos they get? Would you criticize a man for having a lower back tattoo or something flowery? Would you assume he was gay? Join the discussion or post a comment below!

I have to say that times have changed quite a bit. Flowers once represented femininity and beauty. They now tend to represent surfers! With all of the pink shirts and flowered apparel men sport these days, I wouldn’t automatically assume that a flowery tattoo indicated that a man was gay. I would however take it as a sign that he should rethink his sexual preference! As for the tramp stamp. Any man can pull off a tattoo in the lower back region. However, I would not suggest that be the only tattoo on your back. If a man should decide that his lower back is where he wants his artwork then to preserve his masculinity I’d suggest a “macho” manly design. As for the left shoulder thing, no one is looking for a gay symbol on your shoulder! Just like no one actually cares if your earring is worn in the left ear. That was a big 80’s no-no if you didn’t want to be assumed homosexual.
i have to say i personally think it’s kind of lame when guys think they have to get something “tough” like a skull, predatory animal, etc.
that said, i’m a woman and i have a flower tat. so maybe i’m a total hypocrite.
