Discussion: Are Tattoo Fading Creams for Real?

JessJDay writes: "I've been using the Tattoo Off Fade Away Cream for just over 2 months. The website said that you could see visible fading in like 6 to 8 weeks (which I've passed) and all those testimonials claiming how great it worked! I have seen nothing, no results, not even a faded spot! Has anyone tried this stuff or the Tat-b-Gone? Is anyone telling the truth out there is have I been had?"

Do you have any experience with these creams, and did they live up to their claims? Leave a comment below or join the discussion.

Hey. Yeah, I’ve been using the Tattoo Off cream as well. In truth, off and on for several years. My tattoo is still clearly visible, although it has lightened up a bit. I really think that the cream itself does absolutely nothing, however, the scrubbing “prep” cream that has a mild abrasive in it does gradually work. I don’t think you need to spend big bucks on these gimmicks; you could probably achieve the same result from any mild abrasive skin scrub, such as you might purchase at Bath & Body or where ever.

I have been doing professional tattoo removals for over 14 years I wish these creams would work I would just sell them and everyone would be happy . The truth is there is NO easy way to remove a tattoo. Not Laser, Not Salabrasion , Not Dermabrasion Not chemical removal. All methods have advantages and disadvantages. Some tattoos are easier to remove than others. Talk to a professional with good client references and an extensive portfolio . DONT WASTE $ purchasing products from those who sell these bogus creams in order to take your money for false hope. Theres no free lunch.

I bought TatBGone from a tattoo parlor in Austin, TX. The guy told me some of his customers had used the stuff with some success, but that it would take a long time and lots of patience. I’ve been using for 8 months now! I’ve seen a difference in the last 3 months – the dark shades have really faded down and the lighter ones are even closer to being faded out. This stuff has worked for me, it just takes a lot of time and its not cheap. But I recommend it to all of my friends who’ve had ink regret. Good luck.

I work in with dermatologists any all attest to the facts that there is no
tattoo cream that will remove a tattoo. Like so many things out there they say it takes so long to remove. Our mind wants so badly to believe it us working that we actually start ti believe we see it starting to fade. But it us really still the same. Just look at all the fake photos on these sites promoting thes products. Even a first year graphic design student could do a more realistic job of faking the result photos you would think they could do a better job the pictures of after removal fade is so obviously fake.

Some of these fade-away creams really sound fake. I mean, just read the indredients of TAT-Med: distilled water, seaweed extract, plankton extract, sea buckthorn? Come on people, what can plankton do for a tattoo? There isn’t even an active ingredient or anything that sounds remotely medical in that stuff. That Tat-MED smells fishy to me.

Yea, I agree with you Andrew. I am highly skeptical of any skin care product that has a list of marine plant extracts, let alone a cream that claims it can fade away a tattoo. I checked the Skin Health Association website that claims Tat-Med is the number one fade away product, it totally looks like an insider job! More propaganda just to see their bogus stuff. See for yourself: http://skinhealthassociation.com/products/tat-med.html

I’ve been having good results with TBG (tat b gone). I bought a 4-month supply and have been using it religiously for like 2 and a half months now. The colors on my american eagle tattoo have been really lightening up. People said it wouldn’t work, well maybe they didn’t follow the directions correctly. Even if it doesn’t disappear, I’m still happy with the results I’ve had so far.

I’ve been using Tat B Gone for 8 months and my tattoo is nearly completely faded. Had a yellow butterfly on my shoulder I got several years ago and didn’t like it anymore. Found Tat B Gone after doing research on the web and reading positive reviews. I have had to reorder once but my tattoo has been steadily fading and results have been really encouraging. I apply twice a day and keep my tattoo out of the sun as much as possible. I think another month or two and it should be nearly gone. Definitely worth your money and the time.

. keeping it out of the sun actually slows down the ink from fading, sunlight fades ink , you’re retarded the positive reviews on that shit are definitely fake and if tattoo creams like that actually worked EVERYONE would be using it, its like suggesting how to get tattoos without using a needle, kills the damn art of it … nice fake answer, you must be an advertiser of the product or just a f***** tard getting paid to review

Hi. I want to remove a tatoo, or a few. Would it be possible for anyone having fading experience with these creams to post some pictures so that I might see for my self. Thanks. Happy Holiday season.

I own three tattoo studios in Los Angeles and I tried your product and recommend it to my clients as it works well. To be honest I tried Wrecking Balm after paying for it because they would not give me a sample and I was
very disappointed, I used it for 3 months with barely any result. I am discussing wholesale prices with Tat B Gone and will start carrying it in my shops very soon. Many of my customers have expressed interest in alternatives to laser and I think this is the best one I’ve seen in my 20 plus years in the industry.

Wrecking Balm is now available at Walmart. This is a joke because anyone who has tried Wrecking Balm knows it doesn’t work. The only good thing to come out of this is Walmart’s terrific return policy. Now, folks will be able to get there money back after trying Wrecking Balm and won’t be in the hole $100. I have friends who’ve used Tat B Gone and had really positive results fading their tattoos. Wrecking Balm only offers false hopes.
