Forum: Temporary Tattoo Cover Up?

Sunday July 29, 2007
zoe zombie writes: "I have a wedding to attend in August. It's going to be outside, so it's going to be blazing hot, and I have a sleeveless dress I have picked out. I have two tattoos and...I would like to cover them for just this day. A longer sleeved shirt under the dress will NOT work. I seem to remember seeing in a magazine one time about a type of cover up makeup for tattoos, for a day, or half a day. Is there anything that you all know of that would work? I'd just like to be respectful to the bride and groom, and be able to wear that dress without a t-shirt underneath it!"

This girl looks a bit “ashamed” of her tattoos… something she should have thought before making them. Anyway, If i were her i would cover my arms with a foulard or something similar.

Dermablend…works perfectly. sold at JCPenney I believe. buy the remover too as it is waterproof and a bear to get off!
(better yet…find friends who don’t mind your real self!!)

I dont think this girl is ashamed of her tattoos, or needs different friends, but there are some occasions where tattoos don’t look great. I’ve three that I do not regret at all and am proud to show them off, but for my own wedding next year, I will be covering the visible ones. I know that some beauticians offer a service where they use basically a heavy concealer to disguise tattoos, but you might want to go for a trial first to make sure it works the way you want.

Well I have to cover my tattoos up for a wedding, too. And its NOT because I am ashamed of them by no means. It is respectful to the bride and groom. I wouldn’t want all the focus on my tattoos instead of on the bride. And all of my family will be there, and I don’t want them to make a fuss over the tatts, and they will because thats how they are. And most of them don’t know that I have one. But I heard that tattoo camo works really well and that is what I am going to try.

You can try it if you want.

I have tatoos, Im not emberassed of them, however, I understand where she is coming from. Shes attending a WEDDING, not a party, bar,bbq etc. Sometimes, you need to look conservative, classy etc A wedding is a FAMILY event where a lot of people care about how you may influence kids, teens etc. Shes trying being respectful not ashamed.

My daughter has a homecoming dance to go to and they have a no visible tattoo policy; so we had tried everything available around where we live including dermablend but nothing covered it until we went to a bridal shop and found CM Beauty Tattoo Cover Kit

after just one application it was no longer visible.
