From wallflower1687:

"I have had my feet tattooed a total of five times, 3 on one foot 2 on the other and these are my best tips:

I highly recommend that you wear closed shoes as little as possible. I wore flip flops for along time after mine like a year, when I started wearing shoes often, they started to fade.

For me - and I have heard others say this - your foot will twitch which makes it hard to stay still, but the artist should hold your foot to keep it still. I think remembering to breath helps, deep slow breaths helps.

I didn't do this but I think it would have helped to have like a stress ball or something to squeeze and dig my nails in to. I kept squeezing the chair.

Be ready for swelling and some uncomfortable walking for a day or two.

And, you should also know you will probably have to have touch-ups every few years."
