Update on Jud Winters
This is Jud Winters, a tattoo artist from Nampa, Idaho. This is a fairly recent photo, but now Jud is laying in the University of Utah's Burn Center with over 90% of his skin burned from a bonfire accident. Doctors have given him a 30% chance of survival, and he has to undergo 2 surgeries a day for at least a week just to removed the charred skin from his body.
Update: Sadly, Jud Winters passed away on Friday, December 28, 2008. His injuries were just too extensive. But unfortunately, without the benefit of medical insurance, his family is still burdened with bills in the millions on top of funeral costs. A fund has been set up to support the family through local Wells Fargo bank branches. Just ask for the Jud Winters fund to make a donation, or contact Garrity Tattoo and they will make sure the funds reach the family.

I’m going to send something tattoo related and beg anyone reading this to do the same. I know all about severe burn treatment and think it to be a horrific experience even with the best prognosis.
Please copy and past this post to craigslist in your local area.
Also Karen, Could you ask that they set up a bank account so people that want to give have a place to donate.
Thanks
This story is not a scam, here is a link to a news article about it:

Seriously folks spread the word, please?
On December 30, 2008 a fellow from my town (Amityville, New York) died from the same cause (gasoline poured onto an open fire), and a friend handed me the article assuming that it was about Jud. This must happen to a lot of people!
