Forum: Any UK Artists Willing to Do Charity Coverup?

From Karen L. Hudson, About.com Guide   February 21, 2010

UnhappyPixy writes: "On my belly, it took 4 hrs - complete agony - then I got up to see this... I'm SO depressed over it... I need a cover please I would give you so much credit, before and after pics, you'd be known for an amazing cover up artist if you could fix this... Please. I have no money though as I gave it all to this woman."

It looks like Victoria Cain didn’t bother to finish the tattoo. I tried to find some info on her, but I couldn’t find a thing.

I’d have a reputable artist finish the job. Then I think it would look okay. As far as the cost goes, get a little bit every week or two. That would spread out the cost.

Hiya, she’s a permanent make up artist who tattoos, her name is Victoria but she switches between calling herself Vikky or Tori (now I know why!) – I wish I lived in Canada then I could enter/ win this ugly tattoo contest!

Oh honey…what a sorry mess! If I lived close to where you are, I would offer to cover it for free, just for the challenge, and of course, to make you happy once again with your body. This should have been ART. Did you not see the plan, before it was transferred to your skin? Did you not watch progress while it was being inked? Just curious. Would love to see the “planned” picture before it turned into this. I can fully understand your horror.Sadly, this happens. Did you look at her portfolio?…so sorry!

I did see a portfollio but I later found out she downloaded some pics from the internet, had them onto jpeg and printed them out glossy like real pics…

& Yes there was a design! It didn’t look anything like this…

But good news, I’ve found artist willing to cover it up for me for £30/ hour though apparently the butterfly will be hard… I’ll post the after pics here once it’s healed!

I believe I have found her. I think she is working under the name Tori Cain at A.S.K in camden. Maybe they do not know her history? Maybe they should be told!

Also is this her site?
http://www.toricain.com/

Personally I would go into the studio that allowed her to tattoo you and ask for your money back or for them to repair it, and maybe go into where she is working now and out her in her new studio about how bad she is.

It is totally out of order to leave someone with a bad tattoo after all we have to wear it forever, so lets hope that somehow her new studio find out how bad she is and fire her asap!

Yes that is her OMG! – also she did not tattoo me at a studio, she did it from her own home, with her dog jumping on me during the process!

Hi,

I just want to let you know I know how this feels, I am in a very similar situation myself! So i hope you find my story of some comfort to you…

When I was way too oung to be tattoo’d i had a black tattoo of a pegasus (like a sillhouette) on my belly, about the size of my thumb so not big. Little dark tattoos like these I have see covered very well.

My bf’s friend has been tattooing for many years, and he has worked in various parlours, but ‘quit’ them as he said the other tattooists were bad at these parlours and he couldn’t bring himself to work along side them…a load of s**t so i’ve found. He had done lots of tattoo’s on my bf, and they all looked fine, very detailed and creative. He even did a great cover up on a dark tattoo on my bf which looked good. So i totally trusted this guy.

Basically, he tattoo’s some flowers around the tattoo to be covered, and then just blocked it all over black! so my belly now has a black splodge with some flowers (the flowers were ok tho, nothing spectacular).

The pain is overpowering on your stomach, and i cried during it! and then i didnt get out of bed for days as i got so depressed about it.

Recently i have decided to find a good artist to reqork it. mine cannot be covered as it is too large and dark now, but I found a good artist and she said she will re work it, and described what she thought would look good, so im going to her studio and shes going to draw up some designs :)

But i just wanted to tell you my story-your not alone! and your tattoo looks quite faint, so im confident it can be done with lots of detail and colours :)

Good Luck

hi – I’ve had it covered since, well some colouring in (as she didn’t colour in much) & I had that horrid butterfly covered up with a flower, it looks okay now, not great, as it never can look great but better.

Thanks for sharing your story.

I named her as I feel: if I can stop one person getting a tattoo from Tori (she did this only a few months ago) I will feel like something good has come from me & me sharing my bad experience…

… I was told by another permanent make up artist that Tori had completely stolen her portfollio & put them on her website pretending it was her work, so I don’t think I’d trust her with the permanent make up either…

I would inform A.S.K. but – to be honest: if a professional parlour like that don’t notice quickly an artist is bad – then they’re not very good themselves,… I think she wouldn’t work anywhere for long without being found out!…

Xx thanks! xX

Im glad you have had some work done on it, and it is beggining to look better :)

I went to the reputable parlour to discuss what to do about my mess up on my belly and they are going to extend the black around the whole thing and add colour to the flowers…so it doesnt look like a scribbly mess with a black splodge :)

The tattooists at the parlour i went to all exclaimed ‘why the hell has he done that? he could have covered it with a nice colour piece’ and it made me even more angry about what this guy had done to my belly ><

I really hope that when its finished it looks much better and you feel better about it. I found it really selfless of you when you sad you didnt want this woman to do this to any one else :) so you should be proud of yourself.

You should leave a link on this thread when its all been improved :)

Warning to all : This permanent make up artist who tattoos has altered her name, she’s now causing havoc under the alias ‘Victoria Thomas’ so she uses Tori, Vikky and Victoria and now even has a different surname!
