"I'll tell you anything about mine. I got a belly ring about 4-5 years ago and when I got pregnant, I kept it in 'til my stomach stretched real tight (very big) and I used a regular earring to keep it cleaned out while I didn't have it in. The day after I had my son, I went home and put it right in with no problems. I had it out for 4 months and it didn't grow up.
A year later, I got a tattoo and there's another little story. Then in February this year, I got my tongue pierced and my husband was watching and he said he just used the rod that goes in the tongue not a needle to pierce it.
