Prince Albert

By Karen L. Hudson, About.com

Definition: The "Prince Albert" is a male genital piercing that goes through the glans (head) of the penis and out through the urethra.

Legend says that an actual Prince Albert had this piercing, thus the name. However, this has never been proven and the actual origination of the name is unknown.

Some mistakenly refer to any male genital piercing as a Prince Albert, but this piercing is very specific and distinct from the others.

Also Known As: P.A. or PA (the letters are pronounced separately)
