Body Art Glossary Definition - Infection

Definition: Tattoos and piercings can become infected if performed under unsanitary conditions or improper aftercareafterward. Signs of infection are severe pain, hot redness, swelling and/or a pussy discharge (with or without the presence of blood). Infection that is not properly tended to can result in serious health consequences and even death. It is not something to be taken lightly and should be tended to by a physician immediately.
