Conventional Piercing Guide
Face - Labret

Description: A piercing of the lip, located in the center under the lower lip.

General Information: Like other lip piercings, labrets need to be cleaned externally and internally. If the disc on the back of the jewelry rubs against your gums or teeth, see your piercer. Don't let it ruin your oral health. Sea salt soaks are highly recommended for the healing of this piercing, especially if you experience any growth of tissue around the disc. You'll be pierced with a longer stud to allow for swelling - you will need to replace it with a shorter one when the piercing is healed. If anyone recommends gly-oxide to heal this piercing, please don't. I tried it and it only makes it worse. I stress sea salt soaks.

Recommended Starter Jewelry: 16-12 gauge labret stud

Estimated Healing Time: 6 - 8 weeks
