Conventional Piercing Guide
Face - Septum

Description: A piercing through the center of the nose, similar to the type sometimes seen on bulls.

General Information: This was once considered a cartilage piercing, because the needle would penetrate the cartilage in order to make the piercing. More recently, the cartilage is being bypassed and the area being pierced is the soft tissue right in front of the cartilage. Pain is minimal, but like a nostril piercing, aftercare will be essential for proper healing due to the high amount of germs and bacteria found there.

Recommended Starter Jewelry: 16-12 gauge captive bead ring or circular barbell.

Estimated Healing Time: 4 - 8 weeks
