I Finally Got It!!!

"Well, 2 days ago I got my first tattoo...a tribal armband. I have been wanting one for about a year and other things just kept getting in the way, but I finally got it! I hadn't kept my desire to get a tattoo a secret, but I don't think that any of my friends thought that I would really go through with it.

Anyway, I have searched the internet, and found a design that I really liked. I kept searching, but never found anything that I liked more...so I printed it and took it with me. With photo in hand, my best friend drove me to the studio because he said that he wouldn't miss me bitching and screaming for anything in the world. It was nice to have someone there, other than the artist, to talk to during the first few minutes especially.

The best way that I can describe the feeling of getting a tattoo is that it is like someone snapping a rubber band against your skin. The outlining was the worst part, but much to the disappointment of my friend, I never bitched or screamed. The only part that really did hurt was when Micro was outlining on the underside of my arm, but it was over pretty quickly.

After an hour-and-a-half, the tattoo was done, and I'm VERY happy with it. It is definitely worth the minimal amount of pain because I have been wanting a tribal armband forever. For anyone in South Louisiana, I would recommend Micro at Baton Rouge Tattoo. He is truly an artist, and has his paintings all over the studio in addition to the flash.

The tattoo is healing nicely, and all it really felt like for the first day was a slight sunburn. Just keep it clean, and a light layer of ointment twice a day. "
