Collector: Nicholas Hart
Tattoo by Johnny Ink - Anchor Tattoo - Seattle, Washington
From Nicholas:"These are pictures of a tattoo I got as a memorial of the victims of the 9/11 attacks and also a protest against our current war and foreign policy.
The four chevrons to the left & right of the peace sign represent the four airplanes that were hijacked. The "tribal" pattern ringing my bicep is reminiscent of the wreckage of the WTC. Lastly, on the inside of my arm is a Red Cross emblem (in black.)
The idea for this tattoo came to me about a week after the attacks when the war-mongering in this country hit a fevered pitch. I got tired of all the ignorant fools saying we should bomb Afghanistan back to the stone age. I felt that this tattoo would be an elegant way to express my sympathy for the victims yet also be a reminder that violence begets violence."
