Definition: "Crusties" are the hard, bumpy, crusty, dried leakage you get around your jewelry while healing a new piercing. It's usually a pale yellow in color, and is the result of "oozing" that leaks from the piercing and then dries. It's perfectly normal, but can cause a lot of discomfort if not removed properly. The easiest and most reliable way to remove them is with a nice warm sea salt soak. Crusties can be visible on a new piercing for 2-4 weeks.
