An artist's hand draws steadily near
his canvas alive beneath him
The outline of her dream over her heart
it's perfect-ness she hopes for
His metallic brush dips once
twice into his paint
And the hum of his talent
drowns a heartbeat
Eyes close as her dream comes to life
His living canvas now adorned
the outline of her dream takes form
Again his brush dips into the paint
and her dream comes in vivid color
A bird for her dream to fly on
It's beauty magnificent
It's life now hers
Pride in his work swells her chest
The work has been well worth
the price paid
A thousand times his brushed pierced
his living canvas
Her smile shows she will take her dream
Forever

mark the spot smear the blood
cover it up
His soul etched on my flesh
bearing the burden of life and the dying
every scream and last gasp
red dye blood mixed with my own
private incisions in full view
tortured controlled art
a puzzle of strength and fear of God
chisel out my wisdom
carve a thought from counsel
implant a sense of understanding
the battle of skin and knowledge
connect the Spirit by smoke and water
behold the thousand words of love
the continual living sacrifice
humbled and posted
point and whispers
warnings to cry out
from the hidden layers of truth
holy names to roll around
hammered images at rest
nailed down once and for all
it is finished

my body is yours
it's fine if my blood drips on the floor
with your ink in hand
stain my skin
I desire that erotic sin
don't try and soften the pain
it's the best part
go slow, so I can remember it by heart
when your done just let me lie
so I can ponder that tortuous bliss
when your done let me cry
for the touch I'll miss.
