Don't Know What You've Got 'Til It's Pierced

Piercing. It's an addiction I swear. Basically after about 6 months after getting my nipple pierced (woohoo) I was itching for another piercing. On which my parents would not see because they would hit the proverbial stratosphere.

I've seen pictures of a pierced scrumper, which is that flap of skin connecting ones upper lip to one's upper gum. I thought wow that looks so awesome, I want it...then I figured hold on when I smile it looks like a piece of broccoli stuck between my two front teeth. So then I go look at other piercings the navel which is a no-no for me, my other nipple but I wanting something that heals faster than six months, etc. All of a sudden, an epiphany, I saw the piercing that I wanted...dun DUn DUN the tongue web. Instead of the flap of skin on the top of my mouth ill get the flap of skin under my tongue pierced.

So I tell my friends and some of them are like "ewwww" and others are like "that's so cool." So I do it. Two of my friends come with... one had the intention of getting a tattoo and the other had the intention of getting something pierced...oh and they did but ill leave them to tell you guys that. So there I am waiting in Way Cool Uptown in Canada (I AM CANADIAN YEAH BABY!) they ask for id to make imp 16 cause imp look like imp twelve, make me fill out a questionnaire, and basically sign my life away (joking) Finally I walk down them steps about a half hour later, the piercer explains all the after care to me and says that this piercing is hard and that she sometimes has to poke people a couple of times.

She asks me if I'm ready, I say yes, and next I know my tongue is at the roof of my mouth and someone's hands are in there as well. She pokes and there was no pain just a little poke pain and that's it. She grabs the ring puts it through and says okay the ring is through all I gotta do is put the ball in there. Now she had a tough time doing that, there's something about wet metal trying to get a grip on wet metal that just doesn't quite work. After about 3 minutes or so she gets it on, I looks in the mirror and I say wow...that looks awesome, the piercer takes a picture for her portfolio and we joke for a while. Then I walk back up them stairs and I see my awaiting friends I show them and they say that's so awesome. For the next couple of days it's a little swollen but not that much and I find out that pasta and lettuce is the enemy and not to eat that when you get your tongue web pierced.

Note: You never know how important something is once you get it pierced, then you appreciate it even more since you have a piece of metal sticking through it.
