A Piece of Cake!
Two weeks after I turned 18 and I graduated High School, I went directly to the tattoo parlor! So I am looking and looking, and nope - there is nothing there that I would enjoy looking at for the rest of my life until...I found IT!! In the dark corner of the room, there it was. Great, now I just have to sit and wait...ok, a little nervous, and getting more and more as the time went by then I hear, 'Sabrina?' Oh man, oh man that's me! They copied and traced and got me ready, and for some reason my nervousness went away. The guy who did it was really cool he talked to me to calm me down and thank God my boyfriend was there, it helped to squeeze his thumb. It was like a piece of cake. (Oh, by the way, it was on my left shoulder/back).
OK, so it's been a year since the last tattoo, and please trust me when I tell you after the first one you want more! Yesterday I got my second. I didn't go to a parlor this time, I would not recommend letting just anyone tattoo you unless you know them, and trust them or you trust the person who recommended them, in this case I trusted and knew this person so I knew everything would be clean. Well, my boyfriend was there again but he was no help this time AT ALL, he was out and about so I was on my own. I would suggest to anyone having something to squeeze, it truly helps, and also BREATHE! You must remember to breathe at all times; there is a possibility you could pass out if you hold your breath. So this one is a band around my ankle, it hurt. I am far from a wimp and I didn't cry or anything, but it hurt mostly just when he got to the sides where the thinner parts are. I also have quite a bit of outline so that made it a little worse. The coloring wasn't so bad. It took about 1 1/2 -2 hours, and it still hurts today. So my advice to any first time tattooees: 1. BREATHE! 2. Squeeze something 3. Don't flinch 4. Over-estimate the pain so it's not as bad 5. (Obviously) Think real hard before putting just anything on your body (you may have kids someday and they will ask you about it) :)
and HAVE FUN!
-Sabrina
