Linda

Title/Duties:
Senior Piercer - Studio Manager, Website Design & Maintenence

Level of Experience:
"I have been with Chrome Gardens for 6 1/2 years now. It is the only studio I've worked in professionally. Prior to my apprenticeships (I did two within six months of each other) I was cluelessly trying to help friends with their botched piercings. I almost stumbled into my apprenticeships, mostly by meeting Stacy and finding that she was seeking a full time piercer. My interest in the body arts was something I'd never been able to explore previously (I used to live in a very ordinary world) and having the oppurtunity to learn and work with such an incredible artist as Stacy was all the motivation I needed. I was very lucky. I've made it a lot harder on my apprentice!" See the Piercing Gallery to view some of Linda's work.

Likes:
"Chocolate in any form, kisses from the heart, clothes that don't itch, Jazz on bright Sunday mornings."

Dislikes:
"People who do things 'for your own good', colorized movies, jewelry backorders."

Favorite Quote:
"'Grasp the needle as though you were holding a tiger by its whisker' -some Asian acupuncturist."

Inspirations:
"Stacy McCleaf - the reason I'm here, pre-Gauntlet Jon Cobb, David Bowie - Renaissance man."

Being Part of the Chrome Gardens Family:
"Being part of Chrome Gardens has been an incredible journey. I think we have a great group of artists here and I can't imagine working anywhere else. I have known some of our regulars for almost 6 years now and they really are our extended family; we have shared in their lives at the same time that they have been a part of our growth. I used to think that the worst part about being at Chrome Gardens was that we were soooo rural. I mean, Gettysburg is a tourist town and a college town, but primarily we are located in the middle of farmland and orchards, maybe a few battlefields. But now I feel that we really are a part of our community and the lives of our clients. We are sharing a journey with them. That's the best part of doing this, for me. It's been very fulfilling."
