Personal Thoughts and Advice from Megan:
I have always been driven to accomplish as much as possible. I realize that nothing worthwhile comes easy!
My priorities in the last few years have changed from tattooing and running the shop to tattooing and children. There is not an easy balance between the three, which is why I sold the shop in 2006 to give me more time for the other two (and better sleep!). I will still work there and travel, and have time to take on whatever else may come up!
I would like to address the process of becoming a tattoo artist. I meet many aspiring artists who want to know how I achieve the softness and realism I do in my tattooing. My main piece of advice to those starting out is to slow down! I got to where I am by working in a flash shop doing the same tattoos over and over, but learning something new each time. Technical ability needs to come first. Start with all black and don't move on until you have at least that mastered!
Remember, nothing worthwhile comes easily!
