Tat of the Week: Australian Emu

121105ablog.jpgYou may think this is a face only a mother could love, but this tattoo is something almost anyone can appreciate. This portrait tattoo is of the flightless Australian bird known as an Emu (ee-myoo), which is the second largest bird next to the Ostrich. Emu's can run up to 30 mph, can grow to almost 6 feet in height and can weight as much as 120 pounds. Despite their size and fairly aggressive cousins, Emu's are shy and docile. And when you come to appreciate them, they can even be down-right cute, like the one in this tattoo inked by Koodgee from Tattoo You in Adelaide, South Australia.
