Hell City 6 Review and Photos
Sunday May 25, 2008
Last weekend, I attended the Hell City Tattoo Festival in Columbus, Ohio. It was my first time attending this particular event, but the itinerary and artist guest list promised one hell of a good time (pun intended). Did it rise to the challenge and meet my high expectations? Read my review and view the photos taken during my three-day venture into the depths of Hell.

Covering this convention was an incredible assignment. Karen and I are in such agreement on the event that a report from me would be very redundant. I want to thank our hosts, and the coordinators of this amazing event, Derb and Tony, for a fantastic event and a great time.
The artwork displayed and being created there was visually stunning. The Artists had everything they needed in the artist’s Lounge, including autoclaves, printers, and transfer machines. Oh and of course a professional masseuse, and refreshments, to keep them in top form while they worked.
The camaraderie and association with fellow collectors was great, the atmosphere was light, and cordial during the day, turning to a bit more fun loving, partying once the Gates of Hell are closed and the bars fill up. At 2 a.m. the elevators were still busy, but the party was winding down. With the Gates opening at noon it was great timing.
I want to also say thank you to all the collectors who were willing to share their artwork for publication. Most of you had the pleasure of meeting Karen, and were able to get a sense of the passion that she has for advocating safety, and acceptance of body art, while sharing your stories and artwork.
This is definitely a convention I would highly recommend, and will be returning to.
