Growing up in a household that is obviously tattoo-friendly, it's no surprise that my 14 year-old daughter, Tessa, already has her first tattoo planned out. She's actually been consistent in her plan for over a year now and hasn't changed her mind. One day she was bored so I suggested that she help me out with the website by writing an essay about what she wants for her first tattoo and why she picked the artist that she did to get it from. She couldn't resist interjecting a bit of her own twisted sense of humor into her writing, which makes it amusing as well as interesting to see body art from the perspective of an open-minded teenager.

She did a great job…sounds like is very open minded! My kids sound a lot like that too, you ask my daughter if she’s going to get tattooed and she already has them all planned out.
I not only read your essay, but enjoyed it very much!! Sounds like you have made your plans, and I’m impressed that you have not only picked out your artist, but researched him as well! As one of those who has tattoo’s for a reason or story for each one, I applaud you!! I look forward to keeping up to date, and counting down the next four years with you!!
WHAT!?! Someone actually read that essay!?! I clearly stated at the end that it was to boring for the human eyes to handle. Did you go blind soon afterward? LOL! Well, thanks for reading my essay. It is really cool that my mom even put it on the site.
Tessa, I enjoyed your essay very much. I think that the seahorse idea for your first tat is great and most appropriate for one who enjoys marine life. When my daughter was 14 she wanted her first tat to be a dolphin. Now at the ripe old age of 15, she has a few planned but alas, she too must wait. Don’t worry, it will go by real fast. Then mom can post a photo here for all of us to see!! That will be really cool.
cool essay!
Very good writing for a bored 14-year-old. I think her choice of tattoo is good. I just wonder how many times she will change her mind before she gets it! Please keep her essay to show her when she older. Maybe she will have occasion to show it to her kids!
