Definition: The process of creating colorful finishes on body jewelry made with alloys such as titanium and niobium.

Also Known As: anodizing

Examples: Anodizing is essentially a simple process of placing the metal in a liquid solution (usually acidic) and "electrocuting" the solution for a period of time. The brilliancy and spectrum of the color results are determined by the properties of the solution and the voltage used to electrify it.
