A Few Words From Lisa Brady:

I met Kirk Alley in 1998 on a venture to start the design process for my own full back tattoo. I was in awe to see the amazing work he created as well as his unique conduct of business (very personal and tailored to each client). Within a few weeks, Kirk accepted me as his apprentice and I started training under his expertise*. I have since worked privately in Scotland, Florida and primarily in Los Angeles.

I take great interest in many forms of art and continue working in oils and other media. For tattoo designs, I love strong and bold that are complimentary to the natural curves of the human canvas. As strange as it sounds, I am overjoyed when a client walks in with the most hideous, horrible tattoo, in dire need of a cover up. This is when I can make a negative experience into a wonderful one! Like extreme makeover of the tattoo world, the ugly scars of a regrettable mistake disappear in all but a few hours. Similarly, deep surgery scars and stretch marks can be covered as if they were never there. It is the most rewarding work I can do in this field, and I love it!

To anyone looking to become a tattoo artist, my advice is this: Find a talented artist whose work you greatly admire, and just ask! Sterilization is number one in any tattoo studio or shop...and secondly, you need to be comfortable around the artist. Tattoo artistry is a creative outlet and you'll never have a monotonous routine! Might I add, you make a lot of great friends along the way!

Oh yeah....and I never got that back piece!

*I must add that Blood-Borne Pathogens, Hazardous Waste handling and Hepatitus vaccinations were primary aspects of this professional training, through the Red Cross, OSHA, County Health Departments, and other organizations.? ?Health & safety must be a primary concern with any tattoo, and is something that I take very seriously.
